Welcome to the Niantic Rotary’s Web Site. Our club has a long history of “Serving Humanity” which is this year’s theme of Rotary International.  As president for this year it is my intention to direct our club to continue in the mission of serving and giving back to our community.

Over the next year our Rotary Club will be providing vegetables to local Food Banks from our garden at the Samuel Smith House, hosting our 27th annual Golf Tournament to fund our yearly scholarship recipients, selling pies for the holidays, selling bulbs on our Memory Tree, conducting Amber Alert IDs at various special events, providing hot chocolate at the Holiday Stroll, co-sponsoring food drives, recognizing outstanding students at our High School and Middle School, as well as members of our military. The above are just a few initiatives that support our mission.

It is with great anticipation and excitement that I announce that our Annual Gala will be held on Saturday, May 6,2017 at the Mystic Marriott.  This is the same evening as the Kentucky Derby which will be this year’s theme.  It is sure to be a fantastic evening, and I hope that you can join us.  More information will be available at a later date on this web site.

As I close I am reminded of a quote from Helen Keller:

"I am only one, but I am still one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something. And because I cannot do everything I will not refuse to do the something that I can do."

It is my pledge to do that something that I can do for the Niantic Rotary this year.  It is a privilege and honor to serve and to follow the many great presidents this club has had over the past 56 years.

David M. Putnam, President 2016-17
